Low Voltage Lead Technician

Job Summary and Objectives:

  • Maintain a presence on ongoing projects to ensure that they are on schedule and of high-quality workmanship. Will need to do rough and pre-rough work to maintain site schedule.
  • Maintain contact with onsite electrical leads to answer questions as they arise during all phases of low voltage system installation.
  • Make terminations at head end equipment.
  • Program systems as required.
  • Pre-test and final test all low voltage systems.
  • Final inspections with AHJ for occupancy.
  • Customer training on low voltage systems.
  • Programming fire, access control, CCTV, intercom systems
  • Work with manager to meet schedule and work requirements
  • Work effectively with crew to maintain efficiency and keep projects moving

Qualifications, Skills, and Requirements:

  • Willingness to learn
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with others, including communication via email and phone.
  • Experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel preferred
  • Ability to read blueprints required
  • Proficient typing ability is required
  • A valid driver’s license
  • May need to work outside in all weather conditions

Compensation:

  • Starting pay is commensurate with qualifications and experience. Typical range is $30 – $40/hour, and is negotiable.

Hours of Work:

  • Hours of work for this position typically range from 6:00 am – 3:30 pm, Monday-Friday but can vary based on the need to complete a project in process.
  • Very little work is typically required off-hours or on weekends, but when needed, overtime rates will apply.

Travel:

  • Generally speaking, no extensive travel is required to most jobsites.
  • Most of our large contract work is within Dane county and the Madison/Middleton/Sun Prairie areas.
